Abstract

The ethnic diversity and customs of the Banggai Laut community are reflected in the art of music and traditional dance movements which are the symbol of the tribe and the customs of the Banggai Laut people that need to be preserved. The method that I use in this study is a qualitative method wherein this method analyzes the problem using a SWOT analysis so that we can know the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the problem under study in order to determine problem solving strategies. Balatindak Dance is War Dance, Balatindak Dance itself has the meaning of the word "Langkatano / Lipu Rare". This Balatindak dance has been known since the time of the Banggai Kingdom. The development of Balatindak Dance is not very good among the Banggai people but has not yet become extinct. The efforts of the people of Banggai Laut Regency in preserving the Balatindak Dance are not yet visible. Likewise the Government's efforts in the preservation of Balatindak Dance, are still not optimal.
