Abstract

Van den Bosch Fort, better known as Pendem Fortress is a fortress located in Pelem Village, Ngawi District, Ngawi Regency. This fort has a building size of 165 m x 80 m with a land area of 15 ha. The location is easily accessible, namely from the Ngawi Regency Government Office +/- 1 Km northeast. The location of the fort is very strategic because it is in the meeting corner of the Bengawan Solo River and the Madiun River. The fort was intentionally made lower than the surrounding land which was surrounded by high soil so that it could be seen from a hidden outside. The type of research used in this study is descriptive using a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques in this study by observation (observation), interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The results of the study show that the management of Fort Van Den Bosch is not maximal, the management should immediately approve the collaboration with the government so that the management becomes more maximal
