Abstract

Gowa is one of the regencies in South Sulawesi Province where the majority of the people there have very familiar customs in their daily lives, one of which is inseparable from their traditional and cultural traditions is pakacaping traditional music. Pakacaping is a traditional instrumental music performance originating from South Sulawesi, this instrument is often referred to as the Bugis harp of Makassar, because it was created by a Bugis Makassar sailor. This study uses qualitative research methods as a research procedure that produces descriptive data by conducting interviews, observation, documentation, and triangulation. The result of this research focuses on the cooperation of the government, managers, and the community in supporting pakacaping preseversion efforts by holding festival events, educational tours, increasing promotion, facilities, human resources, quality of work and funding from the government.
