Abstract

Banggai tribe is a native tribe that inhabits the islands of Banggai, Banggai tribe has a very diverse tradition that can be used as a tourist attraction, including dance, songs, music, traditional ceremonies and folklore The study uses qualitative methods as research procedures that produce descriptive data by conducting interview, questionnaires, observation, documents and triangulation. This research focuses on preserving the local cultural wisdom of the banggai tribes in the cocolomboi hamlet with the aim of being known by the wider community. Based on the result of the research that the preservation of the Banggai tribe’s local cultural wisdom has been going well, the community is enthusiastic in the preservation and there is also a target to make a tourist hamlet program in the islands Banggai distict, and there is no role for the government in the preservation.
