Abstract

Asahan is one of the districts in North Sumatra. In Asahan Regency there are excellent tourism objects, namely Ponot Waterfall. Ponot Waterfall is located in Aek Songsongan sub-district, precisely in Tangga Village. Ponot Waterfall is one of the highest waterfalls in Indonesia with a height of ± 250 meters. The beauty of Ponot Waterfall is on the very heavy debit of the water and also the arrangement of the waterfall which is a 2-level waterfall. Under the pouring of many waterfalls there are natural stones which are very large so that they become the main attraction as a complement to the beauty of the Ponot Waterfall. Asahan adalah salah satu kabupaten yang terdapat di Sumatera Utara. Di Kabupaten Asahan terdapat obyek wisata unggulan yaitu Air Terjun Ponot. Air Terjun Ponot terletak di kecamatan Aek Songsongan tepatnya di Desa Tangga. Air terjun Ponot adalah salah satu air terjun tertinggi di Indonesia dengan ketinggian ± 250 meter. Keindahan Air Terjun Ponot terdapat pada debet airnya yang sangat deras dan juga susunan air terjunnya yang merupakan air terjun 2 tingkat. Di bawah curahan air terjun banyak terdapat batu-batuan alam yang berukuran sangat besar sehingga menjadi daya tarik tersendiri sebagai pelengkap keindahan Air Terjun Ponot. This research uses qualitative method as a research procedure that produce descriptive data by conducting interview, observation, dokumentation and triangulation.This research focuses on the development of a tourist attraction and introducing Ponot Waterfall to local tourists and foreign tourists to increase tourist visits. Managers play an important role in the operation development of Ponot Waterfall. Managers have made various facilities such as mushalla, bathroom, and other supporting facilities. The surrounding community plays a role as a service provider that is ready to meet the needs of tourists
