Abstract
MICE is a tourism industry business that is growing with a very fast growth rate, the development of science and technology that is rapidly giving a big impact on the tourism business in each country. This research was conducted to evaluate the development of the Lombok area as a MICE destination in the province of West Nusa Tenggara. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method by collecting data through observation, in-depth interviews with related parties and documentation studies. This research uses the theory of sustainable development, carrying capacity and uses guidelines issued by the Indonesian Minister of Tourism regarding Organizing Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conventions, and exhibitions which include accessibility, amenities, attractions, stakeholders and SWOT Analysis. The results of the study show that the development of Lombok as a MICE destination in terms of amenities and accessibility has not yet adequately with the standards for organizing, meeting, incentive travel, conventions and exhibitions. Cooperation between the government, the community and tourism businesses can provide the best solution in overcoming the existing deficiencies.
