Abstract

This study aims to explore and map students in understanding Pancasila. The focus of attention in this study and research is directed at the thoughts and views of students through case studies of students in the Pancasila Education course. The results of this study indicate that students' understanding of Pancasila has the correct epistemological basics after experiencing the process of getting used to reading reading sources in the form of textbooks, textbooks, journals, scientific research, and mass media articles about Pancasila. After students search for information, the lecture process is carried out with a roleplay learning model to simulate the process of proposing, formulating, and ratifying Pancasila as the basis of the state. At the end of the lecture, students are asked to describe the meaning and understanding of Pancasila for the Indonesian nation and state by using their own language style. The results of this learning process can encourage students to think correctly in interpreting and understanding the importance of Pancasila as the basis of the state as well as the nation's ideology. Efforts to increase understanding of Pancasila are important for students as a process of building national character. Keywords: improve understanding; epistemological pancasila; university.
