Abstract

Fort Rotterdam is one of historical heritage buildings that be proof the struggle the city of Makassar. The potential possessed by Fort Rotterdam is an attraction for local and foreign tourists. The purpose of this research is to find out how conservation efforts hve been carried out by the government. The article argues that Fort Rotterdam needs more optimal preservation. The government carries out development and preservation fully with regulation as its guideline. Conservation activities are carried out physical renovation of buildings, developing good facility arrangements to achieve tourist satisfaction, promotional activities also carried out to increase the attractiveness if tourists to carry out conservation, and the government as much as possible do a strategy that educated tourists not to damage the physical authenticity of the building.
