Abstract

Curug Tujuh Cibolang is a natural tourist attraction that has been exist since 1986, located in the hamlet of Nanggela, Sandingtaman village, Panjalu, Regency of Ciamis. The position of the Curug Tujuh Cibolang residing in the mountains makes the tourist attraction has a beautiful natural panorama, beautiful rural atmosphere aside from the seven waterfall as the main attraction. In this study asked how the role of Government and the community towards the development of Curug Tujuh Cibolang as well as the constraints that hamper the development. The methods used in this research is qualitative descriptive methods. Data and information taken directly from the Curug Tujuh Cibolang. With the data collection technique does is observation, interviews ,quisioners and documentation. From the results of research while doing observation, interviews, and documentation known that Curug Tujuh Cibolang has managed directly by the public company "Perhutani". This tourist attraction has a wide variety of natural attractions and forest potential and still could be further developed. Found many shortcomings in various aspects such as the facilities (toilets, access roads, lawn chairs, pathway, guardrail), human resources, promotion, until the regulation. Needed an effective strategies by partnering with The Governments, increasing marketing or promotional sector, makes the alternative attractions which not damaging existing ecosystems, empowering communities, human resources training and renewal the infrastructure in order to develop the Curug Tujuh Cibolang become a mainstay in Ciamis, West Java.
