Abstract

Padang City is one of the cities in West Sumatra. In the city of Padang there is a tourist destination that is Pasumpahan Island. PulauPasumpahan is located in Kecamatan BungusTeluk Kabung. PulauPasumpahan has beautiful scenery and is still natural. As a marine tourism destination in Pasumpahan Island there are many species of ornamental fish and coral reefs are still awake. This research uses qualitative method as a research procedure that produce descriptive data by conducting interview, observation, dokumentation and triangulation.This research focuses on the development of a tourist attraction and tointroduce the Pasumpahan Island to local tourists and foreign tourist to increase tourist visits to Pasumpahan Island. Managers play an important role in the operation of the island. Managers have made various facilities such as mushalla, bathroom, lodging and other supporting facilities. The surrounding community plays a role as a service provider that is ready to meet the needs of tourists.
