Abstract

This study aims to know and examine the preservation of arts of Tanggai dance in Palembang City. The formulation of the proposed problem is the action of preservation of Tanggai Dance, how the role of Government to the preservation of Tanggai Dance, and how the role of Society in the conservation of Tanggai Dance. The research method used is Qualitative Method and Data Collection using observation, interview, documentation and questionnaire. and the Data analysis using SWOT. The result of the research shows that Tanggai Dance in Palembang City is a cultural heritage that becomes Tourism Attraction to attract tourists supported by society, artist, and government. Improvements in the promotional and publication sector are an appropriate effort to attract tourists visiting Palembang City.
