Abstract
Culture as one aspect in tourism can be a potential for tourism development, sustainable tourism with the concept of cultural tourism will be able to strengthen the national culture of Indonesia. Duwet village is an are with residential potential that maintains the Joglo House as a cultural asset in Klaten distric of Central java. This research used qualitative method and SWOT analysis which is used as a strategy to determine the result of identification process of internal and external factor regarding preservation of Joglo House as cultural asset in Klaten distric. Potential of Joglo House in Klaten Regency is one of cultural asset which need special attention in conservation effort. The role of communities that maintain the Joglo House and the distinctive architecture of javanese culture, ultilazation of residential settlements as education media and people who understand the values contained in the Joglo House is one form of efforts in its preservation. The support of goverment as a forum for public awareness to maintain the existing Joglo House until now through the process of development and preservation the potential of existing Joglo House in Duwet village.
