Abstract

Tourism is an important economic sector in Indonesia where natural and cultural resources are one of the most important components of tourism development in IndonesiaGunung Kidul district is a regency in the Special Province of Yogyakarta, with its capital Wonosari. Regency of Gunung Kidul has tourism potential spread all over subdistrict. One of the attractions in gunug kidul is Jungwok Beach. The purpose of this research is to know how development effort and society role in developing Jungwok Beach. The author's research method is qualitative descriptive. With use SWOT analysis for data analysis The efforts to develop Jungwok Beach are to improve access to Jungwok Beach, to increase tourism support facilities, and to maximize promotion. While the role of the community in developing Jungwok Beach is to form POKDARWIS that play a role in the development of the beach such as managing kiosks leased to the community
