Abstract

Silek Minangkabau or Silat Minangkabau is a martial art owned by the Minangkabau community, West Sumatra, Indonesia passed down from generation to generation from generation to generation. This study aims to determine the efforts of society and government in preserving silek as a tourist attraction In Minangabau and know the characteristic of this silk minangkabau is a traditional martial art that has existed since long. This research uses descriptive qualitative method and SWOT analysis. Research on silk conservation efforts as a cultural tourism attraction in Minangkabau. The results of this study is to maintain the existence of silek in the modern era now that compete with modern martial arts originating from abroad.
