Abstract

West Kotawaringin is one of the district in Central Kalimantan. Basically, there are two ethnic groups of indigenous people in West Kotawaringin namely Malay tribe and Dayak tribe. One of the cultural heritage of Malay tribe, especially among the Kutaringin Sultanate that is Sinoman Hadrah Dance. Not all dance studios in West Kotawaringin practice this dance continuously and public interest in preserving this dance is still lacking. Researcher is using qualitative methods and using SWOT analysis to analyze the data. The government's role in preserving Sinoman Hadrah Dance is very important to provide support facilities such as musical instruments are terbangan, baboon, ketipung, and tamborin, and also Malay traditional costume, and other properties. The provision of facility such as a training building for community-based studio is also needed as an effort to support the preservation of Sinoman Hadrah Dance. The government's role in promoting is also very important to do, by making this dance as a cultural-based product such as organizing cultural festival and competition of Sinoman Hadrah Dance.
