Abstract

Kesirat Beach is the favorite fishing spot for many rock fisher. This place is located in Karang, Girikarto Village, Panggang sub-district, GunungKidul Regency, DIY province. Kesirat is totally different with other beach because its only high long rock cliff. The natural ambient of this place and beautiful scenery and awesome sunset is the most attraction of this place. This research made to find out about contribution from government and local people around there about tourism development and also how to show the unique characteristic of Kesirat This research is using Qualitative Descriptive method. Data and information are directly taken from Kesirat Beach with collecting technic observation, interview, anmddocumentatation. The result of this research is that government did not have contribution inGesirat development. Local people have a contribution in order to improve the tourism activities. For development, Gesirat needs promotion strategy in order to improve the competitiveness like using an icon or landmark
