Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelagic country that has a vast territory stretching from Sabang to Marauke as well as having ethnic and cultural diversity. Special Region Of Yogyakarta is one of the dozens of regions in Indonesia that offers special characteristic of the culture. Cultural wisdom makes Yogyakarta as one of the main tourism destination in Indonesia. Merti Dusun Cagunan Ceremony is a routine tradition which held every year by Cagunan society, Trimurti Village, Srandakan Subdistrict, Bantul District as an expression of gratitude to Allah SWT for the gifts given in the form of salvation, welfare, prosperity, or tranquility of life. The series of Merti Dusun Cagunan procession were Khotmil Qur’an, Kirab Gunungan, and Wayang Kulit performance. The preservation strategy of the Merti Dusun Cagunan Ceremony as a potential local culture that can be introduced to public are improve the promotion about Merti Dusun Cagunan ceremony via social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc), newspaper to more effectively be known by public.
