Abstract

Akkarena Beach is one of the beaches in Makassar City, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, which has a natural tourist attraction in the form of twilight scenery and the coolness of the lush trees. The beach has recently been inaugurated so it needs to do research related to the development of the quality of tourist attractions and increase tourist visits. The research method used is qualitative method by researching the theme about "destination" theme. Data collection was done by interview technique, questionnaire, observation, document study, and triangulation then managed by method of data reduction, data presentation, and deduction of conclusion. The analysis conducted in this study using SWOT analysis. The study found that Akkarena Beach development strategy such as renewal and addition of facilities and attractions that are available or not yet available are strategies that need to be developed. With the implementation of these strategies, tourist visits to the beach Akkarena can increase.
