Abstract

The Grenden Pine Forest tourism object is a nature-based attraction under the foot of Mount Merbabu which presents beautiful scenery with pine trees while enjoying the natural atmosphere of the mountain. This still relatively new pine forest still requires a lot of development to attract tourists to visit. The writing of scientific article aims to make efforts to develop the pine forest of Granden as a tourist attraction in Magelang, Central Java. This aricle use qualitative method and data analysis with SWOT. The development efforts that have been done are road improvements and additional tourism support facilities. The government's role is cooperation with Gunung Merbabu National Park for the permission of tourism object in Mount Merbabu. The surrounding community plays an active role in the development of the Grenden Pine Forest. The existence of cooperation and the active role of the community is a development effort to make the Pine Forest Grenden as a leading tourist attraction in Mount Merbabu.
