Abstract

Javanese marriage is one of the traditions originating from the Palace. This Javanese customary marriage contains noble values that reflect the noble Javanese culture. The nobility of the culture is reflected in the way the wedding ceremony and make-up are symbolic. The method used in this research is qualitative method. Data is taken directly in Yogyakarta, to learn and introduce Javanese cultural heritage to tourists visiting Yogyakarta. The results obtained from the research are knowing how the procession, the role of the community and also the strategy of preserving traditional Javanese weddings
