Abstract

Tenganan Pegringsingan village is one of those traditional villages in Kecamatan Manggis, Kabupaten Karangasem, Bali. Also renowned as Desa Bali Aga, the village still preserves the old way of living, following traditional customs inherited by their ancestors. Building layouts, structures, and even the position of pura (Hindu shrine) are set out by generations long ruling. What’s so good, Desa Tenganan Pegringsingan supports tourism very well. The ancient village has met the standards of a good tourist attraction by providing necessary facilities and skilled human resources. Furthermore, the local government is proactively involved in the village’s development. Nevertheless, there are still many areas for improvements to be regarded as one of the sustainable tourism objects.
