Abstract

This research is about the management of the Jenderal Besar Soedirman Museum in Yogyakarta. The purpose of this study was to find out the role of the government in managing the Jenderal Besar Soedirman Museum and the efforts that must be made to increase the number of tourist visits at the Jenderal Besar Soedirman Museum. This research uses a Qualitative Method, in collecting data using observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. This study uses qualitative analysis and SWOT analysis. Based on the results of observations by researchers, there has been a role for the government of the Cultural Service and the Cultural Heritage Conservation Center, and efforts made by the museum management to increase the number of visits, the collaboration between parties and promotion of museums is more active to increase the number of tourist visits in Yogyakarta.
