Abstract

The background of this research is that the special interest tourist attraction of Arus Progo Rafting in Kulon Progo Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region where the special interest attraction Arus Progo Rafting is one of the special interest attractions in the Kalibawang region which is very potential in Kulon Progo Regency. Arus Progo Rafting is a form of special interest tourism that utilizes the Progo River as a media or place to conduct activities. Having the main tourist attraction of white water rafting or heavy current sports with a variety of trips and supported by a variety of standardized equipment and professional guides, Arus Progo Rafting has good potential to be developed. This study uses a qualitative method. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, documentation and questionnaires as supporting data. The data collected was also sourced from various sources, such as: Arus Progo Rafting Managers, related Governments, and communities around special interest attractions Arus Progo Rafting. This research resulted in several efforts that could be made to increase tourist interest in Arus Progo Rafting as a special interest tour in Kulon Progo Regency. Where such efforts in the form of improving the quality of human resources and tourist attraction require good cooperation and support from the parties concerned.
