Abstract

Merauke District has a variety of interesting cultures. one of them is the gatsi dance from the marind tribe merauke papua which is used for thanksgiving dances for them. This study uses qualitative research methods that are analyzing and presenting facts systematically so that they can be easier to understand and easier to conclude. The method of collecting data uses the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. The preservation of dance gatsi dimerauke has been very good but there are still many that need to be improved and added such as promotions, facilities, accessibility and human resources. his strategy includes organizing parties every year to celebrate their natural results. community participation is very supportive, the community provides full support for the government and helps the government in organizing these cultural parties
