Abstract

Mandalika special economic area is one of priority of the governmet program. By having an area of around 1,035.67 hectares and offering maritime tourism with stunning beaches and stunning underwater view, Mandalika is expected to be a world�class tourist destination. This research was conducted at PT. ITDC in central Lombok regency. The purpose of this study was to find out the development of the Mandalika special economic area as a priority destination in West Nusa Tenggara. This type of research in scientific articles is a qualitative descriptive study which descriptive data consists of respondent’s answer and analyzed by the author. Goverment through PT. ITDC as the manager has a role in developing Mandalika to build facilities and infrastructures. In addition, PT.ITDC empowers the community by creating a training program in the environment around Mandalika. The training aims to prepare the community in the Mandalika area to be involved in the development and operation of Mandalika in the future.
