Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent of the development of the Mulo Tourist Village and its Future development strategies towards this tourist village in order to be able to attract tourist destination in Gunungkidul Regency with all attractions and potential that Mulo Tourist Village had so can compete with other tourism objects in Gunungkidul Regency. Mulo Tourist Village is a tourist attraction that carries or uses the concept of CBT (community based tourism) or community empowerment as the basis of the development of these attraction. Community empowerment or CBT was chosen because the management wanted and hoped the community could play an active role in developing tourism object and get a direct impact to the local community in the presence of tourism. Mulo Tourist Village has a variety of attraction that can become a magnet for tourist to come and visit these attractions. The attraction that have been in the form of culture, nature tourism (Ngingrong Cave), mass tourism (Ngingrong Digital Market), educational tourism (Stone Garden Window Geopark Gunung Sewu UNESCO) and other. It is expected that in the future this tourism destination will be able to become a special interest tourism attraction that is favored because the activities in there such as flying fox, caving, camping ground, etc. so that it can increase the number of visitor or tourist in this attraction and also in Gunungkidul Regency.
