Abstract

Ecotourism development is a promising strategy to increase tourist visits, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, which significantly impacted the tourism sector worldwide, including East Lombok Regency. This study focuses on the development of the Tereng Wilis ecotourism area as a sustainable nature-based tourism destination. The research employs surveys and in-depth interviews with local stakeholders, along with secondary data analysis related to post-pandemic tourism trends. The results indicate that with proper marketing strategies, improved tourism facilities, and active community involvement, Tereng Wilis ecotourism can become an attractive destination for both domestic and international tourists. The recommendations derived from this study may serve as guidelines for local policymakers to optimize ecotourism potential and accelerate the recovery of the tourism sector in East Lombok Regency.
