Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze the economic impact of the natural tourism activity of Mount Prau hiking on the community of Patak Banteng Village, Wonosobo Regency. The study is based on the growing popularity of Mount Prau hiking tourism, which significantly influences the local socio-economic conditions. A qualitative descriptive method was used, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results show that hiking tourism contributes directly to increasing household income through various local businesses such as food stalls, homestays, portering services, hiking equipment rentals, and parking services. In addition, new job opportunities have emerged, and retribution funds from visitors are managed transparently to support public facility development and community welfare programs. The study also finds that tourism activities promote environmental awareness and innovation in service delivery. The conclusion of this study is that Mount Prau hiking tourism has a positive, inclusive, and sustainable economic impact on the local community. The researcher suggests strengthening community-based management systems and enhancing collaboration between tourism operators and village authorities to ensure the long-term sustainability of tourism benefits.
