Abstract

Street Bar Prawirotaman in Yogyakarta is a famous nightlife spot, especially among the younger generation who love to enjoy the nightlife. This article aims to explore the behavior and preferences of tourists visiting Street Bar Prawirotaman Yogyakarta as a nightlife destination. Using a qualitative approach, this study involves interviews and observations of tourists, especially young people, who have various motivations for visiting, such as seeking entertainment, relaxing, and venting negative emotions. The results of the study indicate that cultural, social, and psychological factors play an important role in tourists' decisions, where many of them get information through social media. Tourist preferences are influenced by comfort, affordable prices, and the entertainment offered, such as live music. These findings are expected to provide insight for tourism managers in improving services and marketing strategies that are in accordance with tourist needs, as well as encouraging the development of the nightlife tourism sector in Yogyakarta.
