Abstract
Pasar Ngasem is one of the culinary tourism destinations that has an attraction in the form of traditional cuisine. Pasar Ngasem is a traditional market that sells various distinctive traditional dishes such as rice apem, cara bikang, dawet ice, and various other traditional cuisines. This research aims to identify the potential of Pasar Ngasem in the culinary tourism sector and analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors for the development of Pasar Ngasem as a tourist destination. This study uses the 6A components as indicators to analyze the culinary tourism potential present in Pasar Ngasem. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan melalui observasi langsung di lapangan, wawancara dengan pedagang kuliner, pengelola pasar, wisatawan, dokumentasi, dan studi literatur yang relevan. The research results show that Pasar Ngasem has unique traditional culinary offerings that can attract tourists to visit Pasar Ngasem and enjoy the traditional cuisine available there. Pasar Ngasem, as a culinary tourism destination, presents an opportunity for vendors to earn income, making it a source of livelihood for the sellers at Pasar Ngasem. In addition, its strategic location in the Yogyakarta Palace and Taman Sari area adds value in attracting tourists because access to Pasar Ngasem is easily reachable. Pasar Ngasem also has potential related to culinary tourism in Pasar Ngasem, including culinary diversity, the long history of the market, and tourist enthusiasm. However, there are also several obstacles such as the lack of public facilities, inadequate sanitation, and insufficient promotion and organization related to the facilities at Pasar Ngasem.
