Abstract

Lake Lanakila is one of the artificial lakes located in Pringsewu Regency, Lampung Province. A province in the southern part of the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. The capital of this province is Bandar Lampung with an area of 35,376.29 km². This lake was created as a result of sand mining which was then filled with water and became a new tourist destination that attracted tourists. Objectives This development strategy can have a positive and negative impact on various aspects, depending on the type of strategy being carried out. The research method used is a qualitative research method, which is a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people or observed symptoms. The results of this research are mostly aimed at family tourists who want to spend time together, nature lovers who want to enjoy the beauty of nature, and photography enthusiasts who are looking for interesting photo spots. The author determined 9 informants based on data sources who knew about the related destinations. Local people's awareness of Lake Lanakila potential can vary. From the description above, it can be concluded that Lampung Province has great potential as a tourist destination, namely natural tourism, cultural tourism, historical tourism, artificial tourism, and culinary. To optimize this potential, it is necessary to develop infrastructure, effective promotion, and involve local communities in tourism management and development. This conclusion by using the right strategy, Lake Lanakila can become one of the tourism icons that supports local economic growth and improves the quality of life of the community. The author gave suggestions in several inputs that are useful for the development of tourism, including, Infrastructure Development, Waste Management Facilities, MSME Product Development, Taste and Price Adjustment, Effective Promotion, and Service Improvement.
