Abstract

Benteng Heritage Museum has a high potential to be developed because it is the first and only museum in Indonesia to adopt the theme of Chinese Peranakans. This study aims to determine (1) Development strategy of Benteng Heritage Museum in Tangerang City, Banten Province in to incrase tourist visits, (2) The role of the community towards the development of the Benteng Heritage Museum in Tangerang City, Banten Province, (3) The role of the towards the development of the Benteng Heritage Museum in Tangerang City, Banten Province. The research method used is qualitative. Techniques data collections used are interviews, questionnaires, observations, and documents. Processing data techniques are reduction, presentation of data, and process of drawing conclusions. The analysis used is SWOT Analysis. Based on the research results show that: (1) Management is carried out independently and has been going well and sustainably in the development of the museum. (2) Development strategies to increase tourist visits from the results of the SWOT Analysis include developing the potential and facilities of the museum by improving the quality of human resources, expanding market share, increasing the promotion activities, and improving available access.
