Abstract

Langen Mandra Wanara is a Javanese traditional dance-drama genre created by KPH Yudonegoro III around 1890. This dance drama which takes the Ramayana story developed in the Kepatihan area. This dance are performed in a way of joged jengkeng (sitting on the legs) and the dialogue is sung with the macapat. Langen Mandra Wanara is one of the cultural potentials that needs to be further preserved and promoted as one of the attractions of cultural tourism. Through this research, using descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques through observation and interviews as well as documentation, helping the authors find answers and strategies regarding the preservation of Langen Mandra Wanara as a cultural tourism attraction, especially in the era of adaptation to new normal.
