Abstract

Manusela National Park is a national park located in the Maluku Islands, Indonesia. Manusela National Park is a conservation area with an area of about 189,000 hectares. The purpose of the study was to determine the role of the government as a stakeholder in the management of ecotourism in the Manusela National Park. Knowing the ecotourism development strategy in Manusela National Park. The research method used is exploratory research that uses a qualitative approach research method. Research method design / model exploratory research with research steps with qualitative methods. Analyzing the gap between the I Wahai regions and II Tehoru regions from the role of the government and obtaining the strategies used in the development of the Manusela National Park. The results of the research on the role of the government are less than optimal in Region II Tehoru experiencing a gap to Region I Sawai which has experienced significant improvements. The development strategy in Manusela National Park is carried out by a strategy with several aspects, namely aspects of government promotion, marketing strategy, accessibility and amenity. Ecological/environmental aspects, community participation aspects and economic aspects.
