Abstract

Goa Maria Sendangsono is one of the religious tourism sites located in Kalibawang District, Kulon Progo Regency, in the form of an artificial cave in which there is a statue of the embodiment of the Mother Mary. In Goa Maria Sendangsono has its own uniqueness which is an attraction. Managers maximize the development and improvement of Goa Maria Sendangsono such as supporting facilities. The research used qualitative methods. The data collection techniques used is observation, interviews, documentation and questionnaires as supporting data. The data collected also came from various sources, such as: Manager of Goa Maria Sendangsono, the community tourism office and visitors. From this research, it is concluded that Maria Sendangsono Cave still needs to improve the quality of human resources and promotion to increase tourist visits
