Abstract

This scientific article contains the results of research on Trenggole Beach, Tepus, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta Special Region which aims to find out: (1) What is the role of stakeholders needed to manage Trenggole Beach. (2) What is the form of ecotourism management that has a positive impact on both the environment and the surrounding community. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The data collection methods used in this study were interviews, observation and documentation. Data processing is done by reduction, display, verification and triangulation. Data analysis using SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat). From this analysis, it was found that Trenggole Beach has no less potential than other beaches. However, this potential still cannot be developed due to limited economic capacity and human resources. In addition, there are problems related to the beach entrance which is blocked by a concrete fence. From some of these problems, it was concluded that the solution could be done by optimizing community human resources through cooperation with stakeholders who play a role in the tourism environment of Gunungkidul Regency. At the same time, it was also concluded that by developing Trenggole Beach using the ecotourism concept, it is hoped that tourists will be more interested in coming and taking part in preserving nature on the beach.
