Abstract

In this study, the author discusses a public interest in the art of karawitan which is one of Indonesia’s cultural tourism, with the problem of what factors influence public interest, how much these factors influence public interest, and what influence does community interest have on the development of cultural tourism. The research data were collected by interviewing, observing, documenting, and distributing questionnaires. In colleciing the data, the authors have obrainde results that there are health factors and environmental factors that affect public interest by 31% and the higher public interest in the art of karawitan, the art of karawitan is increasingly alive and can be used to attract tourist to visit and study
