Abstract

Central Lombok Regency, this area has a lot of culture, one of which is the traditional dance, namely the Jaran Pejanggik dance. The Jaran Pejanggik dance contains symbolic values which are very meaningful to the Lombok Sasak people. The Jaran Pejanggik dance is usually performed at various kinds of traditional ceremonies and as a mere entertainment event, but due to the Covid 19 pandemic this dance is rarely performed to prevent transmission of the virus. This research was conducted using qualitative methods in which data collection was carried out by means of interviews, observation, and documentation as well as using a SWOT analysis. The results of the analysis show that in order to preserve the Jaran Pejanggik dance, it is necessary to have the role of government, society, and managers which is very much needed, improvements and additions to public facilities, and application of health protocols that need more attention.
