Abstract

Kulon Progo Regency is one of the districts in Yogyakarta. Kulon Progo Regency has many tourism potentials that are superior one of them is Oglek Dance, traditional folk art typical of Kulon Progo Yogyakarta. This research was conducted using qualitative research specifications and produced descriptive data by conducting interviews, observation questionnaires, documentation and triangulation. This research also use SWOT analysis. Conducted to determine the extent of the efforts made by the community and the government, and what strategies were used to preserve the oglek dance as a traditional folk art typical of Kulon Progo Yogyakarta. The government and society have a very important role in the effort to preserve the oglek dance. In addition, there are also many factors that are driving and inhibiting the efforts to preserve this dance. So that it still needs to be reviewed again so that it can truly be said to be sustainable.
