Abstract

Ponorogo district is one of the districts in East Java that has tourism potential with various tourist attractions. one of them is Kampoeng Durian. This Kampoeng Durian is a fairly new destination in Ponorogo. the first destination to offer the concept of Agro Tourism and also Agro Politan. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the government, especially the Ponorogo region in participating in the development of new destinations, strengths and weaknesses in Kampoeng Durian tourism objects and also to introduce more widely Kampoeng Durian. While the method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method and also SWOT analysis. The research focuses on the government's role in developing Kampoeng Durian destinations as a new destination in Ponorogo. The results of this study are the need for the active role of local governments in new destinations, increasing promotion and also improving facilities needed by tourists
