Abstract

Tourism villages as an alternative to new tourism objects (DTW), actually have their own advantages in attracting visiting tourists. Karangtengah village is the name of the village which is in the middle of the center surrounded by jungle and oro oro which are inhabited by approximately 500 inhabitants. Karangtengah village existed before before 1923 which was under Kawedanan Ageng Surakarta Kaprentah Dening Asisten Wedono Ing Imogiri Surakarta. Methods of research use qualitative methods data analysis by using SWOT analysis which is SWOT analysis is used to formulate strategies for identification of various factors strategally based on understanding and knowledge an object. Karangtengah Tourism Village located in Karangtengah Village, Imogiri District, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta. The potential of the Karangtengah Tourism Village besides its natural beauty as well as wild silk cultivation, handicrafts, Rongko keris crafts, batik, arts and culinary. In addition there are also attractions such as track downhill bicycle lanes on "Boekit Hijau".
