Abstract

Tourism is one of the development sectors and plays an important role in the development of Indonesia, especially the regions. Culture is part of tourism, culture as one aspect of tourism that serve as a potential in tourism development. The issues discussed are how the Traditional Ceremony of Bathok Bolu Alas Ketonggo as a tourist attraction in Sambiroto, Purwomartani, Sleman and to find out what the conservation efforts. The research method used in making this Scientific Article, using descriptive qualitative research type. While the data collection techniques used are observation, questionnaires, interviews and documentation. After the data obtained collected, followed by data processing by reduction, presentation, verification and triangulation of data. Then performed data analysis with SWOT analysis. Traditional ceremony Bathok Bolu Alas Ketonggo as an effort to preserve culture in Sambiroto not maximal because of facilities and infrastructure that is still less support such as toilets and inadequate garbage. The existence of the development of tourist attractions, utilizing the open stage and cooperation with the government can be an opportunity in preserving Bathok Bolu to increase tourist arrivals. The role of the community in supporting the preservation of the traditional ceremony of Bathok Bolu Alas Ketonggo is also very much needed.
