Abstract

The problem discussed in this study is the conservation of the historic site of Selogriyo Temple as a cultural heritage of the Magelang people, Central Java. This study aims to determine the conservation efforts that have been carried out at Selogriyo Temple. The research method used in this study is the qualitative method. While the data collection techniques used in this study are observation, interviews and literature studies. After the data obtained was collected, the data was analyzed by using the SWOT technique. The results of the study show that: The historic site of Selogriyo Temple is one of the Buddhist cultural heritages built by the Sanjaya dynasty in the 8th century AD. The conservation of the historic site of Selogriyo Temple can be carried out if there is a good relationship between local government, managers and the people. But in its development in terms of Human Resources, facilities, infrastructure and promotion are still obstacles and become the task of many participants. For this reason, it can be concluded that the strategy to conserve the historic site of Selogriyo Temple can have a positive impact in terms of regional economic aspects and cultural conservartion of the people in Magelang, Central Java. With the existing potential, increasing the quality of human resources, improvement in various fields, some of these efforts will have an impact on increasing tourist visits from inside and outside the country, besides that it can also preserve national cultural heritage to be sustainable
