Abstract

Rafting on the Progo River is one of the tourist destinations with extreme attractions in Kulon Progo Regency. In this review, the proposed problem is how are the methods involved with the sporting industry management strategy? The reason for this research is to find out the management strategy of rafting on the Progo River in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic situation in Kulonprogo Yogyakarta. The method in this exploration is to use a qualitative method. The object of this research is white water rafting recreation in Kulon Progo Regency, while the exploration subjects that are considered are managers, workers, and guests. This study utilizes the number of visits and respondents. Information collection procedures used in this study were interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that destinations that have the main attraction of white water rafting or can also be called fast-flowing sports with various trip options provided by the manager. Attractions that have been supported by various equipment that already has a standard performance function of each equipment. In addition, this sport is also accompanied by professional guides to do rafting on the fast currents of the Progo river. This rafting has a lot of potential and can be developed. In developing its potential, a strategy is needed to increase tourist visits to the Progo River Rafting.
