Abstract
This research describes the Lipa Dhowik woven fabric during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Lipa Dhowik woven cloth is a legacy from generation to generation to future generations as heirs and at the same time preserves, maintains, and becomes a cultural value in traditional activities. The Lipa Dhowik woven cloth is a traditional Nagekeo cloth commonly used by local communities. Lipa Dhowik woven fabrics are used at certain moments such as mourning events, traditional rituals, and weddings. The Lipa Dhowik woven fabric is also a handicraft product for the Nagekeo people to support their lives and boost the family economy. The characteristics and thinking skills of the weavers as a form of existence and efforts to preserve culture. This study used a qualitative approach, where the data collection process was carried out by observing, interviewing and documenting. The survey results reveal participation in terms of conservation, the obstacles faced and strategies for preserving the Lipa Dhowik woven fabric. Based on the research conducted by the author, it can be concluded that the preservation of Lipa Dhowik woven fabrics has various shortcomings, namely inadequate facilities, inadequate security and the technology provided for tourists does not exist. The strategy adopted is to develop the existing potential as well as improve and add to the care of existing facilities, so that they can operate and be used properly, maximize safety and provide technology for weavers, and still provide understanding for tourists to comply with health protocols.
