Abstract

Art of Sandur is an art grows and develops in the “agrarian” society is a society that lives with the pattern and agriculural system as a source of life. Which lies behind this research is the number of young people who now prefer modern culture ratherthan traditional culture for example art of Sandur. Sandur the displaced with the development of times that must the preservation this art. This method is a qualitative method, which is a form of research that is intended to describe the social object of the society in Tuban to maintain / preservation the art of Sandur. The result of this study is to show that the art of Sandur is still maintened / preserved by artists in Tuban. Sandur Ronggo budoyo is one of the group of Sandur that still active and maintain / preserved the authenticity of Sandur in this modern era. Sandur Ronggo Budoyo play a role in the effort to preserve the arts of Sandur when the many modern culture that entered in Tuban.
