Abstract

Makam Astana Girigondo Paku Alam is a religious tourist attraction located in the hamlet of Girigondo, Kaligintung Village, Temon district, Kulonprogo. The tomb of Pakualaman itself was first used as the tomb KGPAA Paku Alam V in September 1900. In this study asked how appropriate management strategies, the role of Government, and the role of the community against the management of Makam Astana Girigondo Paku Alam. The methods used in this research is qualitative descriptive methods. Data and information taken directly from Makam Astana Girigondo Paku Alam. With the data collection technique does is observation, interviews, and documentation. The research result while doing observation, interviews, and documentation, it is known that Makam Astana Girigondo Paku Alam is managed directly by Pura Pakualaman Yogyakarta and local government. A lot of potential that can be developed further. Found many shortcomings in various aspects such as the facilities (toilets, roads access, trashbin), until the promotion. Effective strategies needed in the management of which is done by the organizer, the marketing or promotion, and infrastructure renewal and building renewal forms in order to develop Makam Astana Girigondo Paku Alam in order to have the appeal separate tours in Kulonprogo.
