Abstract

This research discusses the potential of Sedahan Beach as a new attraction, the government's role in developing PanataiSedahan has not been maximal, such as inadequate infrastructure and still little contribution from the government and not yet felt, the surrounding community still play an active role in tourism activities. The potential that stands out is the beauty of nature where the beach sedahan in wedge two beautiful limestone hills and at the back by the natural scenery and adanay karst hills around, located in the Village jepituKec. Girisubo, Kab. Gunungkidul. This research method using qualitative method with observation technique, interview and questionnaire taken from visitor, resident, manager, village device, and from Tourism Office of Gunungkidul Regency. Strategy to increase and develop the potential by involving the community in the management of making improvements in the sharing of facilities and infrastructure for tourists such as road access to the object of tourism and the central government help to develop tourism objects and can attract tourists.
