Abstract

The ethnic and indigenous diversity of theBanggai community is reflected in the artof music and traditional dance movementswhich are symbols of the Banggai people'stribes and customs that need to be lifted to the surface and preserved. The method that the authors use in thisresearch is a qualitative method in which qualitative methods analyze problemsusing SWOT analysis so that can know thestrengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the problems studied in order to determine the problem-solving strategy. The art of Salendeng Dance is a sacreddance that holds wide motion of meaning and philosophy. As the times progressed, the large majority of Banggai tribes had begun to ignore the art of SalendengDance. It needs public awareness that the importance of maintaining the cultural heritage of traditional art of DanceSalendeng especially to the youngergeneration.
