Abstract

Mangrove Gedangan Purwodadi village tourism is a mangrove forest that stretches on the left and right of the sand river bank. The condition of the forest is good and well preserved, the mangrove trees are very dense. That condition of the mangrove which led the idea of local residents to be managed as a tourist location. the service facilities is not only tourists but they also provide educational knowledge and information related to mangrove plants. The purpose of this research is to determine the development of the Demang Gedi mangrove forest, which is a leading tourist attraction in Purworejo, with the implementation of the new habitual adaptations. The research method used in this research is a qualitative method, by observation, interviews, and documents. And the data processing methods are reduction, data display, conclusion, and triangulation. Data analysis using a SWOT analysis which is carried out by examining internal and external factors. From the research results, it is known that Mangrove Forest has very interesting potential to be developed and preserved both from its natural tourism and education.
